Perched in the top floor of Quest Mall, Kolkata, Serafina is an Italian Fine Dining restaurant that has already curved out a niche for itself and gained a reputation for serving the best Pizza and Tiramisu in the town for sometime now! Needless to say I was pretty excited when I was invited to be a part of their new menu launch. The new menu retains all the goodness of their previous offerings with a few tweaks here and there that elevates the dining experience a notch higher. The health conscious, the meat lover, the dessert dude… well I can vouch no one is going home without a smile on their face J
My experience :
Before the nitty gritties I must say food at Serafina is neat, sophisticated and lip-smacking good. Not one not two but All of them. Don’t take my word for it just go and see how they treat something as basic as a Cream of Mushroom Soup with mushroom Crostinis. Right density, perfect texture and heaps of flavor…I can just gulp down an entire barrel-ful! ;). The Chicken Salad too on point with the perfect seasoning and dressing. I knew the lunch was going to be good when a-not-so-soup/salad-kinda-person like me could not have enough of what they served.
Among the entrees that deserves a very special mention is the Anti-Pasto Misto, the non veg platter.
In the main course, the new menu offers Grilled Chicken with veggies and Potato mash (with a black pepper sauce), Braised Bhekti with Spinach and the BBQ ued Pork sausage with egg fries. The house-made Pork sausage was a clear winner with the Chicken and Fish dishes following s a close second!
When in Rome, do it like the Romans and when at Serafina order a Pizza. Yes it almost a dictum. Handrolled, thincrust, generous topping of marinated chicken and shitake mushroom and the right drizzle of cheese and chilli flakes- this thing just cannot go wrong!
The final gong came in with the sinful and drop dead gorgeous Nutella stuffed crepes and icecream that can now easily give the famous Serafina Tiramisu a fitting competition.
O and did I forget their absolutely refreshing Twisted Orange Mojito that helped cleansing my palate as I hogged J
