Yes you can expect that and a lot more when you enter the impeccable, wooden laminated interiors of BAAN THAI at THE OBEROI GRAND, KOLKATA.
With the succulent Chicken hormok (minced chicken cakes) and Wok tossed prawns prepping us, in came the mains. While the staples were the usual Wok tossed Thai noodles and a rice,the lamb dish Patani deserves a special mention. However, we had the best yet to come… the DESSERTS!
I can easily vouch that their Kaffir Lime Crème Brulee with candied ginger tuile is the best in town.
And if you just thought you had it all, wait for that White chocolate wasabi cream with red wine sauce and dried berry meringue for that final moment of awe.
Thus, while you end up with a cheque slightly heavier than the usual dine-outs, you know that not even a penny got wasted,and you are going to savour this meal for a long time to come.
