Pujo Parikrama – The Mop Up Rounds

Today is Bijoya Dashami- the day the Devi leaves for her heavenly abode. After all the fun and frolic, we have to bid goodbye to her with a sad heart, with the words “asche bochor abar hobe” (till the next year, Ma)…..

So last night was the final opportunity to pay a visit to the pandals we had missed in the mad rush of the earlier days. Of course that doesn’t mean we could get in without the customary queues at the pandals. In fact the day marked the biggest traffic on the roads- everyone from the new borns (infact just borns) to the octogenarians were out to catch a glimpse of Devi Durga and her children.

We present to you our mop up round of Puja Parikrama. And as per the Bengali saying “ostader mar sesh rate” (the master strikes at dawn) , we saved our best for the last 😀
