Hailing from a typical bengali family in Kolkata, Satyajit Ray and Feluda have been as organic to me as macher jhol and nolengur ever since childhood. And why only me! It would not be an exaggeration if I say that Ray and his works have been a part of our being. From the suave bong sleuth who takes pride on his ‘mogojastro’ to the intriguing Manomohan Mitra of Agontuk, Ray has given us moments and characters that are immortal.
On the 96th birth anniversary of the legend, Kolkata is ready to pay tribute to Ray and his works. NANDAN, in association with Angel Entertainment brings to us ‘Satyajit Ray’s Short Film Festival’. The daylong festival will be held on 2nd May 2017 at Nandan-II. There will be screening of six short films and a documentary on Ray’s life through his work.
